Default Squeals when driving straight, stops when wheel is turned?

I've tried searching for threads with squealing that stopped when turning but all I could find were threads where squealing began when turning...

So the past couple weeks my truck has been having a squealing noise from the front drivers side wheel. It sounds like a really loud serpentine belt squeal (but it's obviously not). And whenever I turn the wheel left or right the noise immediately stops. Just wondering if these symptoms are specific to a failure of a certain part. I would assume things like bad axle u joints or rotors or something...I just don't wanna throw parts at it if someone here knows what it is. Thanks

put the thing on a lift. If you can move the wheel, even a little up and down, back and forth; its a bad wheel bearing. Easy fix. It stops because turning it a certain way puts pressure on the inside of the bearing. Check the rotor for signs of gouging, but I doubt turning the wheel would stop a rock from creating noise in between the brake and the rotor.

Just an update

Well my brakes started getting worse; grinding, brake pedal binding up (getting hard) once in a while. The squealing noise from the wheels kinda went away/changed and I could hear some squeaking when I turned the wheel a certain way, and the brake+ABS lights were intermittent...

So, started changing the pads and rotors this weekend, old pads were definitely worn and the rotors had a little scoring and rust. Turns out the wheel bearing on the front driver's side was bad, which you guys already figured. Replaced that as well. Brakes work real good and no brake or ABS light.
