Default 03 ram wheels on 96

I have been pondering this for a long while now. I have a 96 dodge ram 1500 2wd with some ugly wheels on it, and I wan to put my extra set of 03 ram 4x4 wheels on it.

I know the 03 wheels will fit on the rear axle of my truck, but as for the front of the truck I cant clear the hub. I have tried wheel spacers, and they dont work. The big wheel spacers will work, but I have heard that they will fail after a while.

I was wondering if the 4x4 spindle is interchangeable with the 2wd, or if there is any solution to get the wheels to clear the hub. I have seen 03 wheels on other 2nd gen rams, and it looks great in my opinion. Please help me out with this I would love to get it done, so I can enjoy my truck a bit more.

Get billet adapters or take the wheels to a machine shop to bore the rims out

Billet adapters should not fail unless you plan on jumping the truck just pay attention to the lugs the first couple times you have them on and off

I may give it a try, but I have not heard good things about them. I would hate for one to break, then have to trailer my truck home cause I was sliding on my rotor for a half mile.
