I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab 5.9L automatic transmission 4wheel drive. I bought it last year and it had the transmission already out of it, I just bought a rebuilt transmission and installed it. Going down the road it tries to jump into 4wheel drive, it doesn't totally engage. Any ideas on why it's doing this and what I can do to stop it?

 

Check the adjustment on the t-case shift lever. Also, drop the rear driveshaft, and pull the tail housing off the t-case, make sure the snap ring that is supposed to hold things in place is still there.
