Default my Ram in nearing completion

so tell me what you think, its not too late to change a few things around

97 1500 318 motor

12inches of suspension lift
1 ton Dana 60 rear off a 98 Ram
79 ford nine inch in the front
both those axles are either going to be 4.88 or 5.13(give me your opinion)
35-40 inch tires, havent decided which ones i want yet
17 inch rims(if anyone cares about that)

thats the basics, give me your comments or concerns.

79 ford nine inch in the front
?????

You can fit 35s with a 2" spacer and some small trimming, why go nose bleed? It does nothing to improve ground clearance ( the taller tires do that ).

If going with 38 or bigger, 5.13. That is, if you don't plan on going ANY more than 60 on the highway.

i would like to do about 70 top speed, i have no real desire to fly around everywhere

as for the 79 ford 9 inch front axle i may have put that wrong, all my research on things has pertained to my dodge

the lift is just to be bigger, i know the tires will handle the ground clearance.

For reference:

This is a 1500!

1999 Dodge Ram. It has a 318 5.2L v8 with an air raid intake and flow master exhaust. An nv3500 5 speed transmission bolted to an np241 keeps it moving. It has a 3in body lift and a 5in suspension lift. Alien patrol bumper housing a smitty built 10,000 pound winch. It sits on Dana 60s with 5.13 gears and arbs. The front has had the vacuum disconnect removed and a solid shaft installed along with serviceable hubs, bearings, 35 spline outers and warn hubs. It rides on 38.5 14 r17 pro comps

I don't have much knowledge of the 9". If its comparable to a d60, then you're set. My buddy here can drive his fine up to 70, but rarely needs to.

You definitely have more lift. Get some damn pictures up son!!

Just something to think about. If you havnt gotten tires for your 17in rims i would get rid of them, pick up some 16.5in rims and wrap them in some military goodyear mtr's. You can find a couple people on pirate4x4 that sell them cheap. You can save alot of money
