Default Something Electritronic?

My dodge ram 2001 5.9 runs an stops,gas flow is ok,has spark,when this happens it seems like it goes out of time,changed tps an coil it went back to cutting off,have to floor it to get it started can run for ten minutes or twenty an stop,would the engine control cause this or pickup in distributor or crankshaft position sensor? had diagnostic ran on it nothing came up.Please help Thank You Rick.

Have to floor it to start it? Sounds like engine temp sensor gone south.

You could be right engine sensor is out does that affect timing? thanks Rick I meant temp sensor did stop working,that shuts down the motor? do you know where this sensor is located looked for it can not find it,this did come up on the diagnostic test not working,could it be that simple? Thanks again Rick!

Temp sensor is on the front of the intake, just to the drivers side of where the upper radiator hose hits it. Two wire connector.

If the temp sensor isn't working, the PCM thinks it -40 degrees outside, and DUMPS fuel trying to make the engine start.... if it isn't really that cold, the engine floods in short order.
