Exclamation Another 4wd question

So today I was in the mood to do some work on my old truck.

The day started off good as I adjusted the steering gear box with the help of the thread in the diy section. I had to turn the worm gear about 3\4 of a turn to get the steering stiff like it should be.

After that I took it for a test drive, and it felt like a whole new truck!

Got back to my house and was cleaning up when my friend showed up in his chevy tracker (same one in my sig).
I told him about what I just did and he asked if I could help him.
His was just as easy! Almost the same design, just the chevys box had a flat head worm gear instead of a allen head.

So after I fixed our vehicles I decided to figure out the 4wd.

When my truck goes into 4x4 there is vaccum at both lines!
I switched it into 2wd and the same thing. Wtf? I thought it was supposed to have vaccum on one line and then flip to the other when you shift the t-case.

I replaced the vacuum selector on the t-case last year and the 4x4 worked perfectly,

Do yall think the selector switch went out again?
My brother mentioned a check valve, but the only check valves I know are next to the intake manifold

Any help? (4x4 and cad are too small to search)

Sure sounds like the t-case switch failed again. You are correct, you should only have vacuum on one port.

The green line is still just vented to atmosphere, right?

Im guessing it is, it might be clogged with mud or something.

Where does the vent usually reside? Is it the one behind the right valve cover?

vacuum on both lines at the same time indicates something wrong in the t-case vacuum switch. it should have vac on only one or the other.

see here.

Do these just go out once a year or what? I replaced that part about this same time last year. Damn napa's cheap parts! Lol

Rock auto and Advance auto have them. Not to mention the dealer.

unfortunately - debugging and fixing the vacuum system is pretty much an annual event until you eventually get tired of it and install a posilok.
