Default Windsheild Washer Reservior Leak

Hey Guys,

The grommet is leaking at the sensor for low fluid, if I fill it past that sensor it will slowly leak out. Can I get this at an auto parts store or do I have to get it from salvage? Dealer?

Thanks!

Brad

Go to the part store with the part number and they should be able to help you out...

Look in the HELP section. Dorman Products I think. There is a Dorman catalog (pdf) that you can download from their site (or used to be).

The only thing they have as far as grommets for my truck is a PCV valve... no go on that. I guess I can call the dealer for a part number and try to match it somewhere...

Thanks!

Just get the pump, comes with a new grommet. And they are cheap enough.

I got the whole reservior for free from a guy online! I had to buy like $80 worth of stuff first, but I got the tank for free!

Even if they do not have the correct part in stock, they should be able to order. Searching the dorman website will get the part number.

I thought I checked that site, maybe I missed it somewhere, but I couldn't find the actual grommet itself, they had like 20-30 different pumps and sensors, but I just need the stupid grommet.

Maybe I will just go today to advanced auto and buy the pump assembly for $16, that way it is fixed and I dont have to worry about it again. This way I can fill up the tank and not have the damn sensor telling me I have low fluid, SO annoying!

Thanks for all your guys help!

My dads truck had a leak there. It was very annoying. I smeared some RTV where the sensor meets the tank and let it dry. Now the "ding ding" and "low wash" light aren't there anymore.

Be certain it's the grommet and not a crack. Mine had the same symptoms and I picked up a new grommet from the dealer for a good price yet it still leaked. I cleaned the hell out of the surface of the washer fluid bottle and discovered a very small crack. I purchased some epoxy from a local hobby store and patched it. Five years later and still sealed.
