Default o2 sensors

Im gonna change my pre cat o2 sensor since i believe its still the original 18 year old one. Is there a set way to tell if they are bad or not? or do they just go bad with age?

Also:
What is the NGK part number?

Thanks

i won't flame you like someone here does to almost every thread made, but i agree that if its the original theres no need to test it. just buy a new one!

here's the ngk i bought not too long ago, but it might vary since you have a 94

after a quick search it looks like you need model 23023 to fit yours

If a guy were to use the search function and search for "oxygen sensor" he'd learn everydamnedthing he might ever want to know about those monstrosities -- which is why I've made it a point to always spell out "oxygen sensor" ever time I've mentioned one. So a little heat is in order, I think.

That said, the first time you think of one that's got over 80,000 miles on it, replace the thing. It's due anyway, and a whole host of mysterious problems will either clear up or be prevented by it.

but he's not trying to learn everdamnedthing about o2 sensors. he's trying to find out about testing them (which i agree if its that old is pointless) and a certain part number.

those are 2 things that when searching keywords "oxygen" and "sensor" bring up hundreds of threads that have NOTHING to do with the 2 topics at hand.

It's been said over and over again that if the sensors have >=80,000 miles on them and you suspect they might be flaky, replace them without another thought. That's what he'd have found pretty quickly, I think. Never mind that "think" is entirely too generous a term for that thing I do with my brain.

If one uses the advanced search to narrow the results to just the 2nd gen forum, and then puts quotes around the term "oxygen sensor", then pert near everthang that comes up is relevant.

I gotta admit that vBulletin's search feature is urine impoverished, but that's no excuse for not givin' it a fly. It pays to be nice when you're getting your tech support for free!

well the way a couple of you guys are acting it seems that every question out there has been asked. so why not lock up the the new posts option and then there will be no choice but to use the search option?

plain and simple: don't like the thread topic? don't click on it.
