why wont it shift when its cold

maybe it is too cold. do you let your truck warm up while neutral? might help.

I usually let the truck warm up while its in neutral for about 5 min before I head out in the winter

Well the truck was completly warmed up and it still won't go into 2nd... Somethings gotta be wrong, today aint my day, had number 8 injector go bad and on way to buddys house doing 15mph the whole way, the check engine was flashing, and I got a vac leak somewere to...

Drop the pan, check the filter, and also the governor pressure sensor and solenoid, may just be gunked up.
