Default 95 1500 3.9L Lifters

I have the opportunity to pick up a 95 Ram 1500 3.9L for next to nothing. All it needs is a tune up and lifters. How difficult would the lifters be on this engine? Anybody have a write up on this? He wants $700 or a tv. I was gonna offer him my 46inch LG which is badass and not in use since my last badass tv was purchased. Lol. It seems like a good deal to make it a work truck. Input?

What makes him think it just needs lifters? Another question would be: WHY does it need lifters....... they generally don't fail very often...... What kind of shape is the rest of the truck in? Does it run??

He said its drivable. And it runs. The rest of the truck is in great shape. I'm awaiting a response to go check it out.

Might be a candidate for a v-8 swap?

That's my thoughts for down the line. But for now it would be a work truck to replace the downed Bronco. The 98 Durango I have right now has a bunch of work lined up. All secret till I am done. But its gonna end up costing me about 8-10k for all the crap. But I should be running so fast it won't be funny. HAHA! And before that even I have a 98 Ranger that is going to receive a 2.5L to 5.0L swap. So I'm gonna be good and busy the next couple years. As for this 95 Ram, I'll hopefully be going to check it out tomorrow morning. Should know within the next hour. Then I'll be able to tell if it really needs lifters or not.
