Lightbulb 99' Vacuum problem...?

I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 sport. The other day my truck started to have a loud air sound coming from it and also when I step on the gas it doesnt have any ooomph to it. I have been searching and searching on google about what it might be and how to fix the problem. I keep reading all of these posts about a similiar problem except I am not having any problems with the air vents/defrost, or the cruise control which EVERYONE keeps saying. It also DOES NOT idle rough (or low), nor does it want to die. It idles at a normal RPM. When I put it in drive and start pressing the gas is when the loud air sound occurs. What do yall think the problem is and how should i go about fixing it? Is it a vacuum problem?

Please help me in this situation all of you Dodge guru's!!!

p.s. does anyone else have a problem with a cracked dash?

Use the search feature for the cracked dash. Lots of people with that problem.

Check for disconnected or broken vacuum lines.

Might b your catalyic converter also. Mine did that had no power when I stepped on gas but would idle fine. Just a thought.
