If you havent already paid for it... when you test drive it pay attention to the rpms... if they seem low and it seems a bit sluggish it may still have factory gearing, you may be able to use that as a bargaining chip to negotiate price down stating you'll have to get the gears swapped to 4.56 to get back factory level power and engine loads... or at least ask hm if they have been changed. 35" tires are awful tall for 3.55 or even 3.92 gears... you'll likely not be able to maintain the top gear much with that combo but at least its not an auto with preprogrammed shift points.

He is 100% correct, in my truck (97 half ton 5 speed with 3.55 gears) i hardly ever use 5th gear with the 285/75/16 tires on it and no lift. I couldnt even imagine running it with 35s. Running down the highway at 65 im only at about 1750 rpms, if i get down to 55 or so i have to shift to 4th to speed up

I have a 01 half ton offroad so I'm assuming it has 4.10s and its a pain to maintain 70 on the hilly west virginia interstates with 35s. I've started turning my overdrive off instead of pushing the pedal to the floor. Someone mentioned shift points on automatics. That can be adjusted?
Sorry, not trying to steal your thread, someone mentioned so better to ask here than start a new thread.

I've got a 95, 2500 it came stock with 4.10's with limited slip rear end and the nv4500 which I still have in the truck. I run 285's on it and ever since I changed the plenum plate and gave it a tune up she purrs like a kitten! I do have to gear down to 4th on hills when I'm running 40-50mph but out on the highway (even on these virginia hills) she'll run great in the passing gear! You got a great tranny and you might look at the plenum plate replacement to keep from using a lot of oil. The lift and 35's might make it a little tougher holding 5th gear. You can pull the throttle body and see back in the intake and probably tell if you've got oil in it. Keep an eye on the oil level after you change oil to make sure she's not taking in oil! good luck and let's see some pics of that baby!
