Noobie question ??

When should I use overdrive ? What does it do?

You should use it when your cruising on the interstate. NEVER using it when towing, regardless of weight.

Overdrive is the 4th gear on our tranny's. With OD OFF you've locked out the 4th gear.

Generally when city or town driving with frequent stop and go traffic you'd be better off to turn overdrive off, helps keep down unnecessary shifting and may save you a mpg or 2.
