Default Strong smell of coolant

After many searches, I can't find an issue related...

I have had a strong smell of anti freeze since getting the truck. At one point the water pump went and was replaced. More recently the heater core went and was replaced.

??? Am I smelling a "residual" smell that is left over from baking out of the truck or is there another possible issue that deals with coolant smell?

How long ago were the parts replaced? Was the heater core leaking inside the cab?

Water pump replaced 4 yrs/12k miles ago
Heater core 2 months ago/200 miles ago

Yes heater core leaked into cab-passenger side floor. The smell is actually coming from the engine area-it had my entire garage stinking

Could be the intake gasket.

What about the gasket behind the timing chain cover? Any leakage there? Was that gasket changed when the WP was changed?

If you still smell antifreeze after 4 years, sounds like you have a small external coolant leak close to the engine. If you aren't seeing any coolant drips on the ground, it's slow enough the engine heat is evaporating it. Mine ended up being the thermostat gasket, but I couldn't tell, until the alt., and acc. bracket where out of the way.
