Default Rear Main Seal Leak?

ok so i have been having this weird leak, its more like a seep i guess, it dont drip much. ok so here is the deal, where the tranny bolts up to the block, ill have a wet area starting on top of the trans and comes down the sides and to the bottom at the front of the trans where it will kinda build up and form a couple drips over a period of time. i got to looking and i cant find nothin for except it looks a hair wet at the back of the oil pan where the rear main would be. my question is... could the seal be leakin into the flywheel and gettin slung up and around and all that good jazz, and making it wet all around the ouside of the trans where it bolts up? thanks guys. im tired of chasing this thing.

The rear main seal could be leaking if that area is wet. But are you sure what you see on top of the bellhousing is from the bellhousing or from the engine?

the area that is wet, is oil, its not tranny fluid. so thats what my guess is , like its jumpin the seal and the flywheel is slinging it up and its gettin thru the crack where it bolts to the block at and coming out on top of the trans and coming down the sides.

Nah. It's just leaking out the back of the intake where it mates to the block, by the distributor. Mine does it too.

^^^right

Plus I dont think that the oil would make it through that space regardless at what speed it was being flung from the flywheel
