Evap Canister hose connection??
I have a 2001 Ram 2500 V10 that I just purchased last week. I noticed a hose running back to what I found out was some kind of a fuel evaporator canister located outside the frame under the extra cab on the passenger side. Problem that I see is the hose that returns up to the engine is broken and not connected to anything under the hood. I cannot find where the hose is supposed to connect and still don't know exactly what it does. Can anyone help?

should be a whole wad of vac hoses behind passenger headlight including 2 different devices. one is leak detection pump, other is purge solenoid. i think the main line from the evap cannister will connect to the purge solenoid first, and then the 2 interconnect with a 4 or 5 short hoses. if you don't find it i can take a picture on my 01.

Evap Canister Hoses
I too recently purchased a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 V10. Upon purchase i did a front to rear underneath inspection checking fluid levels and for obvious damage. One of the forst things i noticed was the absence of the CAT. converters. Engine compartment inspection revealed a hose running up next to the frame rail on passenger side beneath the exhaust that looked like it had gotten hot but connected to nothing. I traced it back to the evaporator cannister. There are 3 hoses connected to it. One goes to the rollover valve on the gas tank, one runs up the frame rail and connects to what i think is the purge solonoid, the other, the bigger line, also runs up the rail rail and just stops with no connection above the frame rail, under the passenger exhaust. I looked at the pictures post but i don't have any of those behind the headlight assy. Anyone able to help me determine where this line connects?
First time poster on here. Any help would be greatly appreciated......

The only things I see behind the passenger headlight is the air filter for the air pump and the purge valve. The small line coming up from the Evap canister goes to the purge valve and from there another small line leaves the purge valve and routes around behind the engine. The is a canister purge solenoid located behind the throttle body so i'm guessing it goes there. The diagram I have of the V10 schematic shows that both the large line and the small line from the Evap canister end at the throttle body. I may have to remove the upper manifold to see where everything routes. As soon as it quits raining i'll get out and look again. Thanks
