97 1500 hitting real hard

Default 97 1500 hitting real hard

alright guys i have a 97 ram 1500 4x4, cruising it hits really hard in the front end for a second then everything is fine happens every once in awhile, now this morning she called me and it is happening about every mile or so i checked the front differential gear oil and i couldnt feel any thing with my finger so i added a quart, i was also told that maybe the torque converter lock up switch could be goin bad what do you guys think any help would be greatly appreciated

What do you mean by "hits really hard"?? Not trying to use 4x4 on dry pavement are you?

Its hard to explain i guess the best way to say it is its almost like it locks up for a second and releases and no we live in pa in the snow belt and the only time its ran on dry pavement is if we go from snow covered to plowed

Jack up the front end, and spin things. Probably either a wheel bearing, or u-joint.

I'd start out by reading this and performing the required diagnostics. If for nothing else than to just eliminate it as a potential problem.

dlyter09 im from the north west part of pa in crawford county and your avatar looks just like my dodge 97 1500 4x4 extended cab, and thanks for the other suggestions im goin out tonight to look at it
