I am selling my 5.2 engine and was asked if "Im verry interested in this engine, my question is .. i have a 1976 plymouth trailduster ( same as a dodge w200 ) and would like to place this engine in it...will it fit?"

I figure it would fit no problem but need to double check.

 

It will bolt in, but, there are differences between the old LA engines, and the newer magnums. intake bolt pattern, (heads are REALLY different...) lifter angle, oiling method for valve train, shaft vs, stud mount rockers, etc.

 

Alright. I am selling the whole engine so I don't think he is planning on putting any LA parts on it. I will just let him know that he needs to shop specifically for Magnum 318 parts and not LA.

 

It's easy to change a fuel injected car to carb'd and a major pita to change a carb'd car to fuel injected. New fuel lines, wiring harness, computer, the list goes on. major pita I tell you.

 

W200 is a 3/4 ton pickup... Trailduster is a Ramcharger re-badged as a Plymouth. I know this is super relevant to the thread.
