Thanks for the help so far guys, one more question... I know zman said don't touch the distributor, but they have different pins inside the plug, 97 has 3 rounded pins, and the 01 has 3 flat ones.. does that not matter and the 97 dist will still connect to the 01 wiring clip?

You are opening up a can of worms if you swap the dist. Maybe just cutting and swapping the pigtail is a good idea. It's no big deal to swap the dist. but then you'll want to have the fuel sync set.

How about just swap the cam sensor? Will the newer versions fit in the older dist?

Mums the word.

Believe it or not, I just looked up the dizzy itself on RA, and they are different. Probably just the indentation for the rubber grommet on the cam sensor harness. But who knows.

Another question.. the sensor beside the distributor is the oil pressure sensor or oil sending unit, correct? The pins on the 97 are different than the 01, just like the distributors pins, so I assume to change that too. Is there anything I need to worry about after swapping the two out?

See if you can just swap the sensors in the distributors... not sure if that will work or not.... If you have to swap the distributors... gonna have to get fuel sync reset once you have it installed and running.

OPS is unscrew the old one, screw in the new one, and yer done.

Ok, Thank you very much for the help.

Hopefully I don't run into any other issues.
