15" rims on lifted ram
hey does anyone know if 15 inch rims will fit on my 4" lifted ram with new spindles. i ask because i called a suspension shop to ask for an installation price. they then told me that the 15"s wont fit a lifted ram. they said they won't clear the spindles. i would just go get 16 inchers but i already have $700 worth of 33x12.5 r15 tires. i have since talked to other tire shops and they told me that the 15"s should fit. im askin because i don't want to order $500 dollars worth of rims and find out they don't fit. thanks for your help.
I have 15's on mine and one side rubbed bad, I have to take a grinder to the caliper to get it to work and it seems fine now. I don't know why the other side didn't rub though. If I were to do it again I would have went 17" or bigger. I have 35's on the 15" rims and it makes the truck noticably bouncier so... It is possible to put 15's on.
michaela805, are you talking about a '94 to '01 Ram 4x4? If so, new spindles shouldn't be an issue. If you're talking about a 2wd Ram, I have no clue. I have 15x8 rims on my '98, they fit like a glove. Anything wider might rub, or so I've been told.
I have also been told by some shops that 15" wheels will rub on the caliper but it depends on the brands. My dad has 15" chrome wheels by unique and I put them on my 2001 4x4 and they cleared the caliper. There was not a lot of room, but it didn't rub. I ordered 15x8's today made by Unique. I'll let ya know in a week or two if they will fit.
thanks for the help everyone. i think i am going to take the chance now of ordering the rims seeing that all of you made it work by grinding something or other. thanks again. oh and ya loosewheelbob its a 4" lifted 2wd ram. THANKS AGAIN
