Smile tps

hi there i have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 4x4
5.9v8
i want to order a tps sensor, but not sure if i should order from dodge or go get it at pepboys or autozone. is there a difrrence from ordering from dodge rather then buy it at pepboys.

also are they hard to install. do i have to disconect any of the battery cables

You should be able to just pick one up at that parts store. Not like there is a lot to 'em. Two screws and an electrical connector to change. Have battery disconnected while you do it, as the PCM needs to re-learn the closed throttle value for the new TPS when you start it up. (so, turn the key to On, pause, crank, do NOT have your foot on the gas.)

jamesneon2003 - was there a reason you wanted to change the TPS? Just want a shiny new one? Did you get it changed?
