thought you might get a kick out of that and the whole thing that really messed with me is I got a 7" double in dash dvd player and a 13.4" drop down tv installed well the 13.4 inch I took out my dome light because it has dome lights built in with a toggle switch to turn them on and off well they dont dim out with the dimmer so I would have never known it if I would have went out to get something to eat lastnight lol

figured you would get a kick out of that and thanks for the tip about where to wire them. If I wouldnt have went out for something to eat lastnight I never would have known I took out my dome light and installed a 13.4" drop tv that has its own dome lights in it but arent controlled by the dimmer.

ok here is an update I have everything working now on the remote starter except for the following 2 things.
The door locks being told by thumpin car audio's tech I have to use relays and resistors for this was told on the phone I have tried all possible wires for the power lock/unlock and the motor lock/unlock and the tan wire to the right of the steering column without success.

The only other wire I need to hook up yet is the defogger wire not sure which wire I should hook this up too. if you look at the diagram of my remote starter on the first page its the blue/white wire on the top of the module its the bottom left wire first wire of the 5 pin connector on the top left.

Happy to say though the truck is remote starting, flashing the lights, goes into panic mode and all that good stuff just dont have my locks and defogger yet.

Thanks for any help offered

Use a couple DPDT relays. (dual pole, dual throw..... might work with single pole as well.) use one relay for each side of the lock circuit. One pole is ground, the other pole is power. Should be able to use the two control wires from the receiver to control both relays, such that when you hit the switch, it flips one relay to supply power, other relay to supply ground.

ok thanks I will have to check it all out tomorrow I called thumpin man what a joke LOL I was asking about the relays and the resistors on how much it would cost to buy and he said under 20 bucks so I was like ok not to bad for the price. Then I made the mistake of asking what they would charge me to just hook the locks and I told him I can show him the wires and make it easy to get for someone knowing what they are doing shouldnt take more than 5 mins to hook up, he came back with me at a price of 75 bucks to hook it told me he was charging 50 just to take it in the shop and not even touch it. I mean dont get me wrong I know they are in business to make money but 75 bucks to hook up 2 wires. I just wanted to pull a carlos mencia on the phone and go dee dee dee yeah ok I'll hop right on that buddy LOL
