running gears change

Default running gears change

ok i'm thinking of changing my running gear in my truck. i don't really know what in it but i know it way to high because ill be in OD at 40mph but i was thinking of putting 33" or 35" tires on it with 16 in rims so can yall tell me what would be a running gear for city and highway use. i do more city/country driving but want good mpg at both

Search function works wonders. As for wanting good mpg don't change to a bigger tire. Its one or the other. Best you will see is 14mpg give or take. That's with a good running truck which takes time and money to get

i do get my number between 14 -16 mpg. but i hate the stock look it to low. it has 240,000 on it but what would a good pair

For 35's you want 4.56 gears. For 33's the 4.10s will be good.

ok. does that work the sam for both 2 wd and 4 wd. cause i know most truck on here are 4 wd, but i've always though if you need 4wd you shouldn't be in that situation with your dd

thanks. ny some chance i kinda high jacking my own thread but my speedometer is off by like 4mph now how do i adjust it, if you know. it isn't digital

Anything done to the truck? Year? Stock tires? I can't see if you have the info filled out in your signature due to being on my phone

i think it has a different running gear in it. PO had 32's on it. then we went to stock tire. other than that it stock. 1996 i don't know what the running gear is i know it high though

The gear ratio should be stamped on the housing. If its got stock gears with larger tires that will cause your speedometer to be off
