Have it looked at by a trusted shop... Sounds like a torque converter problem to me, but I am not auto transmission expert...

I hate them, actually.

Mud + truck = tore up somethin. Did you wash the undercarriage completely?? If not, theres no telling what the mud could have tore up under there.

Have you checked your tranny fluid? The last guy that went mudding in water had mud go through the vent tube on the transmission (yeah, they have those BTW) and it wrecked his tranny.

Check the fluid, if it looks anything other than clear pink....drop the tranny pan and inspect for shavings. Then refill your tranny with fresh fluid.

^Plus one on that last one. Check fluid and drop pan as well as replace filter. While ur in there add a drain plug. So if the fluid isnt an issue and u have to go back in itll make it way easier. Good luck

Mine did the same thing. That means the truck could be starting off from 0mph in 2nd gear and not kicking down into 1st. If there is a check engine light, it could be your governor pressure solenoid. If not, you got a bigger problem on your hands. My tranny threw that code a month before it actually went out... Was an expensive job. Costed 910 dollars to get it rebuilt. It'll save you money if you know a friend with a shop and if you guys do it yourself. Otherwise, take out a loan.

slide under the truck and check the inspection plate. make sure it's on there okay. there will be a gap at the bottom to let junk leak out of the bellhousing. I suggest taking a peak inside it after taking it off to see if something is stuck up there , but i highly doubt it.
