In the toolbox, with another soon to be mounted somehow vertically behind the driver's seat. I hate not having one in the interior, but I'll be damned if I'll have anything heavier than my coat rattling around loose. It'll do me no good after a wreck if it's already vented my skull.

VERY true. Make sure its strapped down well. Rather take an extra 10sec to remove if you need it than have it loose in the truck ready to kill you in a fender bender...

Yeah, mine is rattling around under the passenger seat. Might want to bungee it down.

It does no use to me under the rear seat because I have 2 childs seats back there in case my girls need a ride. Can't lift the seat with 2 carseats there.

Please do. Right now, in fact, if you haven't already. It'd be damnably difficult to live with yourself if an otherwise less traumatic wreck left one of your kids terribly damaged or dead.

I've just been out in the garage looking at my truck and I'm thinking I might be able to securely mount an extinguisher to the frame that holds the driver's seat. If it'll go there that's where it'll end up; if not, then I'm hoping there's some steel behind the plastic behind the driver's seat, or maybe even on the transmission well in front of the driver's seat. Older trucks presented more options, but weren't as cute. Oh well.
