Default Muffler rotted out

I have a 97 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.2 under the hood. My muffler is rotted out can anyone tell me of a muffler brand that allows for more power and some noise but not to loud.

Amuffler isnt going to net you any real power by itself.... There are other restrictions like factory cat/ypipe and factory pipe diameter and crimped bends that limit the flow as well as factory manifolds which arent that bad in this case...

If you are only changing the muffler I would just search the youtube videos for one that sounds to your liking and go with it... stainless will hold up much longer and you will avoid going through this again..

I have a Magnaflow on mine. Its a pretty long one. I had to have the shop order it, they stocked shorter, louder ones. The bigger the muffler, the quieter they are usually. I like the sound pretty well. No additional power, though.

LOL, a muffler isn't going to help. Read this , https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...um-thread.html

Walker makes some stock replacement mufflers for a decent price. They also make some pretty inexpensive turbo mufflers under the Dynomaxx name. I had the Dynomaxx Super Turbos on an 89 mustang GT. Weren't too loud, I liked them. I never liked really loud mufflers. Kinda sound like the engine is trying too hard to me.

Like others said, you won't get additional power, but if your stock muff is rusted out, those are some options.

Well a "Thrust glasspack" is certainly original.
