Default Spare Serp Belt

Been thinking on this. I have a spare Serp belt, but the one i am currently running is almost new. So the only reason itd break(well more likely) is if a pully froze/broke..etc So I want to buy one that will be able to handle cooling(new water pump) and maybe the alt or steering. What size should i get? Figure if a pully freezes i want to by pass it..

I carry a serp belt and IDLER PULLEY for the same reasons you said!!! Those things just shatter immediately when the bearing goes (happened to me). Idler pulleys are CHEAP and the most likely to be the culprit if your belt just spontaneously tears apart.

Get a serp and idler. BTW, My spare belt is my old belt. I don't think it is necessary to get a new belt unless I absolutely have to.

Wow! Well i ordered a new idler pully so it will be here tmrw. will toss the old one thats just starting to make noise in my spare parts box which stays in my trucks tool box. Thinkin of also getting a serp belt for a NON ac truck as well. That way if it breaks cause the ac i can by pass that..
