So I guess that's not the problem, huh?

Well, I don't know... Let's just say I'm not impressed, although my rear payload jumped up around 400# to about 1,100# before squatting

Okay, here's the update: they sent me 2wd springs. My backspace calculations were so perfect, I didn't need them though. I took her to get aligned, and it helped some, but still swerving. Then, I got the trackbar kit from BD Deisel. That helped some, the truck feels more solid but still wanders. The play seems to be coming from the gearbox, I see nothing else with slack. Thoughts?

Park someone in the drivers seat, key in the Off position, but, steering not locked. Have them rock the wheel GENTLY (one finger) back and forth while you watch what moves, and what doesn't. If you get a fair amount of movement in the steering shaft before the pitman arm starts moving, there's your slop.

Some of that you can adjust out, maybe all of it, depends on how worn the box is. Or, replace the box with a higher quality unit. (don't bother with anything that is re-manned..... not worth the money.)

Give the adjustment a shot..... on my truck, with 165K miles on it, it helped quite a bit. I think there is even a DIY in the faq section.

And for future reference, there is a book with the measurements asked about previously. It can be found pretty cheap here

What would this be for? Is it for the spring height at rest?

TRU WAY publishes data used by body shops for frame alignment, frame height and any angles. It should have frame to ground dimension and tolerances.

May have to call them to see if they have it is in stock for your model. Not always listed on website. I have one of these on a couple other vehicles I have. May find on e-bay as well.
