Default P01281 / Truck too cold

After searching through and reading previous threads on this I just wanted to get some clarification.

I recently finished up my plenum, tune up, etc., however I also installed a 180* Thermostat without really reading much into the topic. The truck started throwing the 1281 on me twice in the past 2 days. Would my best bet be to go back to a stock 195? Or do I have some other underlying issue that I am missing here?

Thanks

Nope, no other issues. If you are running the factory tune, go back to the 195 degree stat.

Mine did the same thing with a 180* stat, then went back to 195*, and it still threw the code. Found out my Coolant Temperature Sensor was bad. Replaced it, stayed with 195* stat with Superchips, no problems whatsoever
