Burping Oil, WTF
ok on the passenger side of the motor were, you would hook up something for vacuum off off the value covers. I had it capped, and my motor keeps burping oil out the top of the valve cover, any ideas people
depending on year, that is either your breather or your positive crankcase ventilation..
you'll want to return it to stock..
if you get blow-by (and you do, it's just a question of how much you get) those gasses push oil up and through.. if there isn't a breather or PCV to manage it, you get what you got..

I'm not sure which years dodge switches the pcv valve and the breather but I assume your talking about the pcv. Why would have it capped off? Its supposed to get rid of the gas vapors that cause oil sludge... Go back to the way it's supposed to be set up.
I have a 99 Dodge Durango aswell and the PCV valve is on the passenger side. Don't know WHY it wouldn't be there anymore, but whatever. I'm guessing pressure is building up in the valve cover so it gets "burped" where it was capped since there is not PCV valve anymore.... Not really sure if that is accurate or not but it's something to go off of.
Doesn't really matter which side the pcv is on(and yes they did change sides). Either the pcv is blocked off or the breather elbow is.(neither one should be capped) I'm betting it does not have the factory air intake ( 14x3, maybe)?
