i have a base model far as i know . 98 dodge ram 1500 extended cab , no power or air. 4x4 has no lettering on it its green. 6ft bed automatic, cloth interior. no carpets rubber floor. 318 motor is there a place where i can put the vin # in and it will tell me?

 

Get a build sheet from dodge. There's a thread with a link in the DIR/FAQ section

or go right to your dealer, give them the vin an ask for a build sheet....thats what i did took all of 20 minutes...15 minutes of that was driving to and from

 

Sounds like an ST model, which is the base model.

 

Is there a sticker under the hood and/or near the inner door jamb that tells the basic configuration? Mine has one. Can't recall the exact location but there should be one.

 

thanks theres a metal tag under the hood on the upper left hand side

 

ST came with no carpet, PW, PDL, fogs, etc.
SLT was just a trim package that included all that.

as said, there's a tag either under the hood or in the glove box, depending on year.
