Default Tire size and rim width

I was wondering if my OEM dodge rims would fit 305/70/16 tires, that are 33" and 12.2" wide?

it calls for an 8.5-10" rim width but i have heard i can still mount them?

My tires are 305/70/16 on my truck, bought the truck with them on it...pretty sure I'm stock height and the rims are oem...to the best of my knowledge...they rub a little on extreme turns...

i have a 01' ram 1500 4x4 with 2.5" spacers, i'm pretty sure ill clear the tire but im just worried about my stock rim, because i think our oem rims are 7" wide and that size tire calls for a 8.5-10" rim.

While I'm waiting for my phone to upload my pictures to Google+, I'll report what I found... It appears my rims are 17"...Which I find odd since my tires are 16".. at least from what is stamped on the side of the tire... As far as the width... that's hard for me to measure with a standard tape measure, I'll have to find some string/rope somewhere to lay it from side to side of the tire to measure for you in the morning... but it appears the are close to 11" wide... maybe I do not know how to properly measure tires... I'll upload the pictures asap! Hope it helps some!

Stock rims are 7" wide, and as your research has shown you, you need a 8.5-10 inch wide rim for that tire to fit right. Some tire shops might mount the tire on your rim but a good shop will not. Your tire will have a profound crown to it, it will wear your tires in a bad pattern etc.

Tire size on the wall of the tire 305/70/16

Hard to tell, I think its close to 11"

I believe these are stock rims...

Hard to tell because of the angle, but from top to bottom, I measured 17"...contradicts the 16" on the tire though... not sure about that...

Safrantz

That is the wrong way to measure a rim's outside dia. Those rims are 16" Holy do you ever have a lot of weights on that rim.
