Look on your rear axle housing for a tag or You could also get a build sheet for your truck

Ok i have 3.55 gears with a 360 and i want to put 285/70/17 tires how bad is it going to hurt the power of the truck?

Not too much. Those are only a bit larger than stock.

I though you wanted 295/75/17 tires? 2" of tire diffence can cost about 15hp on the dyno according to a couple guys on the ford forum who did dyno runs before and after going from 31" to 33" tires... basically the same amount of HP others here pay $300-400 bucks on roller rockers to gain so...It will also cost you a bit of gas mileage just so your forewarned...

When a person steps up to 35" tires without changing their gears they are just asking to have their transmission burn up and the truck is very sluggish to drive.

I've had 285's on my 3.55's before I swapped gears and it wasn't bad. You should be good to go

You are wright i was going 295/75/17 but i can get a better dill on 285/70/17 price and gas thanks for all input.

t33n3r: hey I have a 2005 dodge ram 1500 single cab and im trying to put after market 17" rims on my truck but dont know if the bolt pattern will match. they are 5x5.5 135mm. Does anyone know if they will fit??

The bolt pattern matches.


As long as they have the right backspacing and width, etc, you should be fine.
