Default shifter issue

To put it into drive it has to be in neutral. Neutral is reverse and rev is close to park. 1st gear is 2nd. And the 2nd is when u put it in drive. Also. It dosent go into the 1 on the colum. But 1st gear is 2. On the colum. Hope it makes sense any ideas? Everythings basicly pushed up. And it dosrnt like to stay in a certain gear.

Get a Haynes and download the free FSM from the FAQ/DIY section , and check and adjust the linkage.

If you remove the knee panel, you will see a plastic adjusting screw with a thin metal cable. You can try adjusting that.
