Dodge trucks NEVER came with a 44 in the rear. Half ton's universally had the 9.25, 3/4 and 1 tons had the D60, 70, or 80, depending on engine/trans. If you have a half ton with anything other than the 9.25 in the back, someone else put it there, as dodge never did.

Well, the Dodge 9.25 is an octagon, more or less and the DSP 40 is an oval, more or less. I don't know how folks have confused them. I looked under my truck and it is most definitely a Dodge 9.25. Hmmm, why would Aamco and Midas both think it was a Dana? It looks nothing at all like a Dana.

Consider that they are both generic shops, that don't pay well.... and you will have your answer.

Well at least you know not to use those shops, if they can't tell what diff is under your truck walk away and don't look back.
