Default PCV Valve on my 1997 1500 Dodge Ram Magnum V8 5.6L

I have a question, my engine has been stalling when i come to a stop, or if im just at a slow idle. I thought it would be the vacuum line to the PCV valve, so i took it off. The engine never stalled once when i drove with out it hooked up when i went to the Dodge dealership, I bought the stock PCV valve and now it is still stalling out when im on a slow idle and when im stopped. plus i just replaced the GPC valve and now my idle is turned up high how do i fix it? Thank you for your help!

GPC Valve?

Need to yank the throttle body, pull the IAC motor out of the back of it, clean all the crap out of there, toss on a new gasket, and put it back together. Reset PCM, take for a test drive. While the TB is off, have a look inside, see any oil? May be time for the plenum job. (see the sticky thread at the top of this forum.)

when you say it idled with no PCV valve, do you mean the pcv hose was capped off at the manifold, or was it open and sucking air?

if open and sucking air, then it got the air it needs to idle, and the IAC valve that's supposed to give it air is not doing so.

you can also test this by riding your foot on the gas pedal slightly to crack open the throttle. if this allows it to run, its further evidence you need to replace IAC. be sure and clean the port at the bottom of the well and don't forget the o-ring. sometimes its loose in the box instead of installed around the body.

Replace the sensor. If you have already tried that, and got the SAME code, time to trace the wiring.

I'll probably create another thread because mine is getting bad for doing this..

Just replaced my iac part and it was fine for awhile. Now when I start it sometimes, it'll have a little hard time and then it'll fire up and it'll be fine. Other times, I fires up and then just shuts back off. Then if I try to start it right away, it'll keep crankin and make noises.

Plus just tonight I was coming up to a stop sign and let off the gas to drift up to it like usual. Damn things idle dropped so low, the steering locked up and shut off! I waited for about 10 minutes and started it. It had a hard time and I had to rev the living **** out of it at 10:30 at night right next to a house so I could keep the rpms up because it kept trying to turn back off.

What the hell is going on?! Everyone is having similar problems here.
