Brake Lights WONT turn off
1996 Dodge 2500 5.9l
I noticed today that my brake lights will not turn off. Tried playing with the brake pedal and nothing. So i replaced the brake sensor (the plunger above the pedal) and still nothing. Even when I have the brake sensor (plunger thing) unplugged all the brake lights continue to stay on.
I went to the rear of my truck and started unwrapping some of the wires (that lead to the brakes lights) looking for some frayed wires or something wrong, but I couldn't find anything other than a lot of dirt.
Any suggestions would be appreciated so I can figure this out without paying out my *** for someone else to look at it.
Thanks,
Nick

Does your truck have a trailer harness? Might wanna look at where that meets the rear harness if it does.
Also, brake lites are also turn signals.... pull the covers off the steering column, and see what the wiring in there looks like, if you have tilt wheel, it's a known problem area.
You can download the 96 service manual from the faq section here, that will have wiring diagrams to help you out.
