2000 ram 1500 5.2L hard to start

I am having trouble with my ram not starting on the first crank. Plugs,wires,cap, rotor are new. Starter and battery checked ok. It usually turns over on the 2nd try, but takes a long turn of the key. I am a less than qualified amateur mechanic, anyone have an idea of my issue?
