It does leak just a little under the truck. Over a two week period I will see a spot about the size of a dime but that deffinately is not a quart.

It would seem prudent at this time To do a simple Compression test.

This is probably gonna sound stupid but I am not sure how to do a compression test? Is it something I can do or does a mechanic have to do it? Also can I do it while everything is appart as it is?

Thanks!

So long as the heads are still on, and the valve-train is intact, you can do a compression test.....

Take out ALL the spark plugs.
Put a brick on the gas pedal.
Remove Fuel pump relay from PDC.
Disconnet electrical connector from coil.
(you don't want spark, or fuel, certainly not both at the same time, while testing.)
Screw your compression gauge into cylinder number one. Crank the engine so that the cylinder compresses 5 or 6 times. (or, until the gauge stops going up.) Record the reading.
Take out the gauge, put a teaspoonful of oil into the cylinder.
Put gauge back in, and crank the engine again. (same as above.) Record the reading.
Repeat the process for all eight cylinders.

Ideally, all cylinders should be above 100 PSI, and all within about 25% of each other. Also, no cylinder should jump more than 25% from dry to wet test.

Post your results here, and let us have a look.

If the intake is off, no need to hold the accelerator pedal to the floor.

He didn't say hold the pedal to the floor, just put a brick on it.

That might work better. I know for a fact, unless the brick is made of lead, it's not holding my gas pedal down.
