Default Need help with Gears.

My Friend has a 2000 Dodge ram Sport, 5.9L 360, I have a 2001 Ram sport 5.9L 360, We decided to have some fun through town, Burnouts and a little racing, We started at the same time and he left me in the dust, 5-8 Truck lengths, He is geared 410, Im curious if there is a way i can check my gears using my VIN or some other numbers? Im running 285/65/18's and hes running 35/12.50/15's, Any reason why his truck has so much more acceleration? My truck has 473** miles and his has 225K..

you should have a tag attatched to your rear axle telling you what gearing you have. if not, you may be able to find out based on VIN, but i'm not sure on that one. I have 4.10 gears on my truck, but its not that quick, i run 33x12.5s

you most likely have the stock 3.55's which would explain your problems.

Check the glove box. Mine has a tag inside with gear ratio and other info.

But my bet is , that both of your plenums are blown, the o2's are bad and the cats are clogged. Just his are not as bad as your's yet. LOL

Depends on your location and if you can find a good 4x4 shop to do it. Im in Pennsylvania and I can get the gears done for $600 per axle.

So that still leaves the blown plenum and shot o2 issue.
