Default Need t-stat info

Well my 360 has a blown plenum gasket so it's time for some weekend under the hood time. So while I'm at it I am going to do a full tune up including plugs, wires, cap and rotor, hoses and belt as well as a new t-stat. Here is the question....what t-stat should I put in there? I have seen where guys put in a 180* but not sure why? or should I just go with the stocker 195* ........I think?

If you change to 180, you need a tune to allow for it. Otherwise stick to stock.

180* of doing a SCT soon. 195* if staying stock.

Does your tuner want a 180 degree stat? What's in there now?

I just got a SC 3865 but have not used it yet. Waiting to repair the plenum first. I plan on running the 87 octane tune so that I do not have to fork out the extra $$$ for 91 octane but......... I normally pump 89 in it.
Overall this should be way better than the de-tuned motor now.
I believe a 195* (stock) is in there now?

The Superchips tuner may be able to utilize 180 deg stat. Need to check and see. My SCT is set up for the 180.

i run a superchips/87 and 180*. no problems. no CEL. i got pretty good mpg with AT tires (14-16), but lost a lot with the mud grips (12-15).

get a good tstat, Stant Super-Stat, and not a cheapo, and please not a Fail-Safe which always fails.
