Somebody put an RH filter on it. Do like johnnyjaws98 said, and install that bolt first.

All the top brands like wix, baldwin,AC delco, etc... only have 2 holes for an RE.

I wanna just bring this back real quick. So install the bolt first, then install the rest of the filter on top of it using the 2 actual bolts that hold the filter in place?

alright so I went to the dealer and just bought that one, since autozone was in the way I stopped in to see what the difference was. I found that the autozone one was much taller and probly why the other user couldnt get it to sit right. But using my vin I confirmed I have a 46re transmission, and indeed it only uses 2 bolts.

if the transmission has a filter extension - it will have the 1 inch block with the 3 holes, and then use the old 727 filter (3 holes) instead of the 46RH/RE (2 holes).
