Wheel Adapter question

So I have my dads old 18" rims from his titan (I know its pretty gay) but their 6x5.5 bolt pattern and I know there is a wheel adapter that will work but the only thing is that i dont want to cut my studs just to get it to fit. So, if anyone has done this before I would like some advice. thanks

Get shorter studs, and swap 'em out?
