I don't know if this link will work but this is what I bought
Look at this on eBay:

http://bit.ly/HjKeG0

It was brand new and idk if I got any power increase but it sounds good when I floor it

Yeah the link works but wouldn't this be the exact same, if not better than that one you posted since it has more of a box kind of heat shield?:

well yeah. but most CAI you see are just sitting open under the hood drawing in the 100+ degree hood.

and OP, i can't speak for everyone, but i saw zero increase in mpg and very little if anything as far as increase in power.

Yup, and that is the primary reason I am not going to bother with that style. Hoping to do some cowl induction in the future....... Need a hood that I can hack up though.

I have a GoodHood with a great big **** cowl up front.. It channels the air to the filter box location above the passenger wheel well.. I capped the box, and insulated it and the tube running to the air hat.. i tapped the tube and inserted the IAT there (run an air gap, had to relocate the IAT)..

I've seen, using software- engine temperature of 179~183* and intake temperatures of 25~35* in 40~50* ambient air temperatures..

you think this is good for mileage? I got a surprise for you: it AIN'T.. colder air is denser air (more of it in the same space) which needs more fuel.. isolated cold air will cost you in fuel, there is no way around that..

you think this is good for power? You'd be right.. I can feel a substantial difference in power, though I'd not be so foolish as to try and 'rate' how much more power.. it is there, though..

at highway speeds, I can absolutely feel the GoodHood doing what GoodHood's do.. It's cramming air right to the hat and stuffing it down the TB's throat.. I don't expect it's cramming enough to consider it positive pressure (as in boost), but it's enough that the engine has all the dang air it can stand and dicks with my vacuum levels/readings..

all that said- cold air is overrated.. make your intake as restriction free as you can, and call it a day.. you'd be better off focusing on other aspects of adding performance.. I think I can say this, because my 'cold air' is likely the most expensive rig on this forum- I've got about $1k in the hood, and another $200 in duct work and insulation.. not to mention tuning.. or filters..

The one I linked does come with a heat shield. It's a real spectre cai. To me it seemed like a really good deal

just cause it has a "heat shield" doesn't mean it still can't pull in the hot air. gotta remember that the top is still open. while it might be close to the hood when closed, its still open and thus still draws in the hot air.

only way around it is to get something like zman shows or this:
