Quick lift kit question
Just noticed that the lift kits I've been looking at seem to be for the 1994-01 Ram 1500, Mines a 1994 2500 with the V10, would the one for a 1500 work? or is there a difference in the frames or suspension mounts/design?
Difference in spring rates (your motor is heavier, and your truck needs to be able to support more weight) as well as 2500 control arms are slightly shorter than 1500's, since we have larger diameter axle tubes.
Well the towing capacity isn't of huge concern I never tow or haul more than a 1500 would handle. So would the 1500 lift kit work? Or is there a place I can find a lift kit for a 2500?
Ahhhhh.....No. See Post #3 above. 2X1972 gave you that answer. Do it at your own peril (of parts failing and stuff not fitting).
And spring rates... The v10 weighs approximately 200 more pounds than a magnum v8.

A spring functions to spec in the middle of its range. Overcompression and then inserts will ereduce the effectiove cushioning of springs.
Also forgot this one... Out back HD leaves = 3" diameter, 1500's = 2 1/2" diameter.
And HD's sit approximately 2" higher from the factory, so 4" of lift for a 1500 would be ~2", then factor in spring compression = Not worth it.
