Thanks, Ramcountry. Looking back on my original problem, maybe the guy put a 210 thermostat in it. So maybe ill just get a 195 thermostat to not cause any problems. This is really interesting, I didn't know all the effects of different thermostats.

I have a 192 (Or 195, can't remember...) and NO cooling fans at the moment and I never see temps over about 202* unless idling at a standstill for extended time. FYI. haha

WHERE IS YOUR FAN??? Thats what my guage runs around, 200* or so, WITH a fan that is

I refuse to put a clutch fan back on, cuz then I will get lazy about the electric fan, and I haven't had the coin to do it yet. My friend just got approved for a loan to buy my lexus, so I will have more money to play with after it's gone.

Like these engines even need a fan.

I have to admit that I've driven around with a broken water pump simply because the engine didn't even come anywhere close to overheating

Haha that's awesome! These really are great motors. Did you read the thread about the guy who was driving around with a crankshaft that was broke in two?
