Default 5.9 Magnum Cooling Improvements

So, I've got a 96' 2500 with the 360 and it runs at about 210 -220 degrees. To me this sounds pretty high.. So does anybody have an ideas for how I could bring this temp down?

The truck is pretty much all stock, with the exception of the cats removed and 2 glass packs.

Do you have enough coolant?

That's wierd, my truck, also a 360, pretty much won't overheat.

You could have a bad thermostat, or a water pump that is going out or gone. Make sure you have the right mixture of antifreeze and water. 50/50

Yea plenty of coolant, and the mixture is fine (Its warming up now, but nights would get down to the single digits about a month ago). I was kind of thinking the thermostat.. might be worth it to change it real quick and see if that makes a difference.

And on a side note, it doesn't overheat, it stays at 200 - 210 constantly. Never goes above that, even on long trips. I just don't like the engine being that hot all the time, wears down the parts a little quicker. So just looking for any upgrades I could make to the coolant system

Has it always run that high or just recently? Temp gauge isn't the most accurate instrument in the world

Putting a 180 degree is a good idea! I did a little research on the 180s and didn't read one bad thing. This is gonna be a cheaper fix than I though. Thanks everyone

Apparently just a little research.

180s are hotly debated unless you have a tuner
