Ya I hear ya

My tire PSI is 35 all around
Truck has 157,000 km
Got it for $6900 plus 2 years warranty
Only reason I got it was a hell of a deal
No leaks, compression test was 140-145 on all cylinders
Nice and tight

Going to start with map sensor
Then buy hemifever sct tune and try a reprogram
Wouldn't surprise me if previous owner left the superchip tune on it
Next thing is the plenum getting done.

Last thing I can think of is a cold air intake, throttle body spacer mods

I already changed rotor, cap, spark plug wires, spark plugs
Crankshaft sensor tested perfect to when I had compression check done

Anyone got more ideas for dealing with crappy mileage?
Just figured it would be better.

Good deal for sure! Low km's nice

As for the Cai and the tb spacer keep your money in your wallet for gas, TB spacer does noda, if you want one I think I still have one, been there done that. CAI build one yourself I think there is a diy for one in that area of the 2nd gen forum.

My biggest mpg gain was seen after I removed the A/C compressor, and then dual exhaust and headers.

I can't speak if the SCT will help you maybe someone that uses one will chime in about that end of things.

Ive got a 5spd ram so I should be getting better milage than you but I also got a lead foot. I hear ya here where I am im at 1.36/L and getting anywhere from 350-450 per tank. If I do 70% highway plus ****in around on backroads Ive squeezed 650 out of a tank. honestly bud 4.10+265/70 might be good in the city not on the highway get somethin close to 285/75's atleast in a good highway tread and then try. im running 285/75's on 3.55's and im revvin at damn near 2k at 110km/h

IMO, thats not too far off. I get 11 mpg (4.68 kpl). Truck is an '01 1500 4x4 QC, 3.55 gears and 265/75/16 tires, and SCT 91 tune.

Don't waste your money on a SCT if you are looking for mpg/kpl gains. I have dyno'd on all fuels with and without tune and it doesn't make any noticeable power gains. I am getting 8mpg/3.5kpl in town and get up to 14mpg/6kpl highway. Fix any problems you may have and just accept that the truck is a gas hog. You aren't going to gain much kpl from doing mods. Best thing you can do is cut off factory muffler and max pressure on the tires.

I'm definitely doing the map sensor. Bet it hadn't been changed in the trucks life

just did my truck last night 200km was 48$ (but at 1.30/L) i believe it was 36L (18L/100km) mixed driving (also not a heavy foot)

some things i KNOW need done.. my cat, o2 sensor and plugs (just did plenum repair)

CEL has been on for... well i think the bulb burnt out thats how long its been on LOL but the code is o2 sensors (hoping bank 1 sensor 1 is throwing the other off..)

do you need an etest in AB? if it was etested how were the readings? yes you can look down the tb and see if there is oil in it (can also be caused by bad pcv, though.. knowing these engines, your plenum is blown)

type of tire is also obvious, if you have an aggressive mudder.. your mileage is going down the drain.

another thing you could do.. take off your box, the doors, your front dshaft, your hood, front bumper, maybe drop a hybrid in. aside from that im thinking if youre viewing this forum youre screwed for mileage LOL

You still have a air dam on under the front bumper? If not put one on it will make a difference for sure.

Trying to guess your mileage by looking at the fuel gauge and odometer isn't even remotely accurate.

Distance driven divided by fuel volume used is the only thing that matters if you care what your mileage really is.
