98 Ram won't start after plenum fix..
Hey guys... first time poster... looking for some help here...
I've got a '98 Ram 1500 5.9... I did the hughes plenum fix, changed out the plugs, wires, cap and rotor.
When I go to start it up... it almost makes a pop noise and everything goes black. Doesn't crank or anything. Any ideas?
I thought maybe the battery was weak and gave it an overnight charge... still the same deal.

Check grounds. Especially the ones up by the power steering pump. Make sure they are all clean, and tight.
Verify your firing order. No. 1 is marked on the cap. Clockwise rotation. 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2.
There is a TSB in the faq section for plug wire routing. Might wanna give that a look as well.

The only ground that I can think of that might be iffy is the one that comes off the alternator - that goes on the A/C line / Air Cleaner bracket.
Should it be on the very bottom underneath sandwiched between the brackets and the accessory drive mount?
I didn't take any grounds off near the PS pump.

well... I'm not sure if I'm any closer to the a solution or not...
Last time I tried it... after the power went out... it came back on (fading) and the check gages light came on... then the voltage on the cluster showed low.
I pulled the battery from my car (chrysler 300) and the power faded out again... but this time there was a buzzing right after... lasted maybe 5-10 secs and stopped.
