Wonder if the PCM is losing the load...... Does ECT get a five volt signal from PCM? What are the other sensors getting when the ECT is dropping off?

any of them that get a five volt supply. Crank, Cam, O2, TPS, MAP... etc. If more than one of them shows the same voltage drop off as the ECT.... I think you have a PCM problem.

I still haven't got to rechecking them i'm not home and wont be till tomorrow. I have done some research and im thinking maybe the pig tail? I also sometimes pufff out some black smoke so i believe its from runnning rich and my very poor gas mileage.

Running rich is probably a product of what you are seeing on the temp gauge... Fix one, may fix the other as well.

Let us know what ya find.

I hope so gas is to expensive. I got a buddy that is gonna come over tomorrow and check out the voltage with his own volt meter. I also bought a new battery today red top duralast. This will hopefully make my truck run a little better because its used to the weak one that dies all the time on it now. Ill update tomorrow after i check the volts.

When you check the voltage, take a photo that shows what you are connecting to as well as the front of the meter. Something is not correct if you are reading 15 or 20 volts on a 12v system. Gotta be something wrong with meter setting.
